Harmonic Symphony Project FAQ

Please reach us at  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Harmonic Symphony Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in under privileged communities through early childhood music. Project is focused on providing high school students in US the opportunity to use their talents in these communities as teachers

Students will be awarded voluntary hours for their service based on their contribution for this project

Although the program is geared to benefit students mostly in high school aged between 14 to 19 years it is open to all ages.

Students are expected to be at beginner or intermediate level where they have a practical knowledge of using an instrument, understand the music theory included in the curriculum, and ability to perform within a team. Program is now extended to teach English as well. Volunteers interested in teaching English do not need to have any music knowledge.

Students are encouraged to bring their travel friendly instrument. It will be students sole responsibility for care and wear and tear of the instrument. HSP will not be liable for your instruments.

Program is open to anyone with musical knowledge which includes instrumental or vocal. Project does not limit to students of Indian origin or a requirement to speak or understand Telugu or Spanish languages. Children in our partnered Hyderabad school have a basic proficiency in English so students traveling from US must speak English. In Medellin, students are not proficient in English and rely on translation.

Boys and girls traveling to India or Colombia will not be roommates and will be housed in separate floors. Housing details will be provided to parents of students who are registered and approved.

A physician will be on call during the time of the program for immediate medical attention. Details will be provided for registered and approved students.

We appreciate you looking at this question. Please contact us for ways to donate. Your donations can help purchase equipment, sponsor a student to travel, donate musical instruments to the school, etc.

We understand that not everyone can afford to travel and we try to provide discounts based on financial hardships. Please email admin@harmonicsymphonyproject.org for discounts.

Program is open to all ages. However, any non-student or student adult will be required to provide consent to do background check when underage children are registered for that trip.
