Harmonic Symphony Project was founded in 2023 by a group of family members and friends who are former international volunteers who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping underprivileged Indian teens discover a love for music. Our mission is to grow into a thriving nonprofit, a international volunteer opportunity, enriching lives of hundreds of underprivileged children each year.
Our mission is based on the ideology that music plays a pivotal role in enriching the lives of children by fostering holistic development across various domains. Beyond the sheer enjoyment it brings, exposure to music from an early age enhances cognitive abilities such as memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. Through engagement with musical activities, children refine their motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness, particularly when playing instruments or participating in rhythmic exercises. Moreover, music provides a powerful avenue for emotional expression, allowing children to navigate and understand their feelings.
Whether through singing, dancing, or playing instruments, young minds develop a heightened sense of creativity and self-expression. Beyond its cognitive and emotional benefits, music also encourages teamwork and collaboration when children participate in group performances, fostering a sense of community and shared achievement. Overall, music serves as a universal language that not only brings joy but also contributes significantly to the holistic growth of children.
The project goal is to enrich as many lives as possible every year by giving students in India an opportunity they otherwise would never get to experience which can improve their socio-economic status, as well as promote inclusivity and broaden their worldview. Both students and teachers alike have something to learn from each other. This is a great teen summer volunteer program.
Our team is made up of a family and friends who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
We are proud to partner with a local government school, P.N. Reddy High School, Medak district, serving children from low income community including Horeb Orphanage children located in Telangana, India. Orphanage and school share our goal of providing the best possible experience and learning opportunities for both the students we serve and the volunteers themselves.
